Burger King, Gainesville FL
We had a busy day in Gainesville and we were hungry. Wanting something fast to eat before we entered the highway back to Ocala, we spotted the sign at Burger King “Cilantro Lime Big Fish Sandwich!” My first reaction was “How interesting!”
I personally love the taste of Cilantro since my cooking friend “MagiesPlaceCookbook.info” turned me onto it a few years ago with a Thanksgiving recipe.The idea now of it with lime and on Fish sounded like it had the possibilities of being tasty but I was still unsure!
We went to the drive through and ordered 2 of the meals. I did replace the fries with onion rings on my meal. Jimmy, my husband had a coke with fries and I had a diet coke.
We pulled over to dig in and they gave us two fries. I walked up to the drive through window and knocked, the gal came and I said, sorry but I orderd onion rings and I got fries and she said very snobby “Bring back your fries then and lets see!” I went back to the truck, grabbed the fries, returned to the window and gave them to her. She gave me a bag with the onion rings in them and while she handed them to me she said “Merry Christmas!”
I thought, OMG this was the rudest gal I’ve ever seen at a fast food spot. I walked back to the truck and part of me felt I should have asked for the manager but decided not to ruin my day anymore because I was very hungry!
Meanwhile, I enjoyed a few onion rings and un-wrapped the beauty of a Fish Sandwich! It was a nice sized large sandwich. I took the first bite and I must say, I absolutely loved the taste!

Burger King Cilantro Lime Big Fish
My husband enjoyed his as well. We were both pleased.
I told him is sure beats the McDonalds Fish because personally I don’t like melted cheese on my fish sandwich and it does not fill me up. This one was very satisfying and tasteful. I could not eat it every day, but it was a delightful change and I can highly recommend everyone to give it a try!
When you do, please leave a comment and let me know what you think.
Now, go catch yourself a Cilantro Lime Big Fish at Burger King!

Today my husband and I went to see this movie at our local theater here in Ocala ” Hollywood 16.” It was a lovely afternoon for a movie and I must say the choice was fantastic!
I have always adored Mel Gibson and he did not let me down with his return to acting after taking a break from it. Even though my emotions flowed and I went through a few tissues, I loved the movie.
Ray Winstone was fantastic! Love his voice, his look and his style. His accent I could listen to him talk all day, and night! ((shhhhh my husband may read this))
Seriously, my review on this movie is a 5 Star!

Today I was trying to find a nice fast-food breakfast and my first choice was Burger King but as you will see in the video I was too late for breakfast. So, my next stop was Dunkin Donuts. I have had their breakfast before and as you will see in the video the hash browns are not great tasting at Dunkin Donuts. I can speaking highly about their coffee being #1 in my book and the breakfast bagels to be excellent! (I love how they toast them) BUT the hash-browns need some major improvement.
Enjoy the video:

Hello all!
To be honest with you I’ve been dreading this post because I had such big plans for this site and spending time with my Grandmother putting reviews up but soon after I built this site, Grandma’s hands became shaky and it was hard for her to write let alone type. Then I noticed she was not reading as many books as she used to read so it became difficult to get good reviews from her.
Since then, she has fallen a few times and it soon became too much for my husband and I to manage her. Most of our family is in ILlinois so Grandma has been moved to a retirement home where she can be looked after properly and have many cousins, grandchildren, and great grandchildren surrounding her close-by.
She had lived with us for about 5 years here in FL and she is deeply missed but I am happy for her because the home she is in, she has several friends that live there as well.
My grandmother was a retired RN so she has many friends in that area with fond memories to share with each one.
It was a sad day when we she left Florida.
My mom flew with her to Illinois and my daughters and I said our goodbyes at the airport:

Mother and Daughter

Grandaughter and Grandmother

Great Grandaughters and Great Grandmother

4 Generations
We watched from the distance as they got on the shuttle at Tampa airport:

Tampa Airport
I sent her a large priority mail box today loaded with her favorite goodies including a picture of our Cat which she adored!
We do miss having her here but the season has ended and its time for new beginnings!
I still plan on doing reviews with this site, but now they will be by me until I can bring on board some other authors. So, if you are a grandma and would like to write some reviews here, let me know!
I’m only a grandma of dogs! No complaints as my day will come!
Stay tuned! Danna

We picked up a few Torpedoes from Quiznos here in Ocala FL. This one is located out by Hollywood 16! Very nice place as shown above.
Jimmy was reviewing the menu while we waited:

Our Torpedoes were absolutely delicious!
The store was clean, the service was friendly and the taste was amazing!

My grandmother seriously enjoyed reading this book!
If you love reading recipes and reading Novels then this is the book for you! Having them combined into one made it even better!
Since grandma finished the book, I have listed it on eBay. She had a special LARGE PRINT edition by Doubleday
Inside flap reads: Anna Del Maso had known that she wanted to be a chef since she was in the seventh grade. “Somehow everything in my life ends up being about food,” she realizes, as she begins the latest of her food-themed quilts. Her twin passions have converged in a brand new position as head chef for Elm Creek Quilts, Waterford, Pennsylvania’s popular quilting retreat …….
GRANDMA highly recommends this book!

What do you do when your hearing is poor?
$2,000.00 (digital) hearing aids are helping but there are certain areas when the $ invested are not sufficient to compensate for the inalienability.
One area most in question is the telephone. I recall as a child (a long time ago) when a phone in a private home was a party line event. There were as many as 8 families on the line. Each with their identifiable ring. Of course when the phone rang we all were guiltily of listening in! Hence, the party line! News traveled fast in those days!
Now, I have a loud volume wall phone, an enhancer so I can hear all the latest “gossip” and tell my many “loves” how much the good old days were great for their times, but you can’t beat progress.
Thanks to the Ameriphone I own.

Also, you may want to check with your local senior center to see if there is a service in your area offering the TASA (Telecommunications Access System Act). This service has made basic telecommunications accessible and affordable for the hard of hearing, deaf, speech impaired and deaf/blind persons.
They loan out all types of equipment including:
* Phones that amplify incoming sound.
* Devices that alert you when the phone rings.
* Captioned Telephones.
* Telecommunications Devices for the Deaf (TDD/TTY)
* Braille TTY for the Deaf/Blind individuals.
* Phones that amplify outgoing speech.
If you do not qualify for this service, I did find a few on eBay:
* Braille Phone
* Blind Phone
* Deaf Phone
* Ameriphone
For those located in Florida, you can get more information about this service at: FTRI.org
This phone has made a HUGE difference in my Grandmothers life. She can finally communicate with her family and friends.
