My dad taught me how to play checkers when I was a little girl and how I loved to have our “special” time together playing checkers. Sometimes he would even let me win! I also spent quality time with my Great Grandfather “Harry Smith” and we would play checkers over the years into my teens before he passed way at almost 100 years old! (I actually can’t remember if he hit 100 or not) We would sit by the TV on a Sunday afternoon playing checkers while listening to WWF Wrestling on the TV! How he loved Andre the Giant! lol
Notice how the game of checkers has sparked fond memories reflecting back to my father and great grandfather. Today I wanted to encourage YOU to spend some quality time with a loved one and enjoy a good old fashioned game of checkers!
I know a GREAT PLACE you can find them –> eBay:

I found this old checker board at a local church sale for ten cents! It has a few checkers missing but I decided to take a chance on it since the checkers were wooden and aged very nicely! I felt it was worth a shot that collector may desire it. So, we will see: eBay Item number: 400211449422
Just curious, if you play the game who taught YOU how to play checkers?
