Watching the intense trial of Casey Anthony from my Ocala Florida home I had a few television channel options able to tune in to the Orlando area. My top TV channel picks were:
Local 6,
WESH Channel 2
WFTV Channel 9

Local 6 News and Wesh has been my two main channels of watching, bouncing in to watch channel 9 occasionally. I preferred watching WESH for two reasons; 1) it had the best picture on my flatscreen and 2) It had no obvious live feed distractions. The thing I didn’t like about WESH was they had a habit of leaving the courtroom too soon and missing some of the LIVE coverage. Once WESH would cut into a presenter, I would switch to Local 6 to find they were still LIVE in the courtroom. I found it interesting to see the behind the scenes kind of activity and I appreciated local 6 providing that. However, the annoying part of local 6 was the live chat that was being streamed across the screen. I found it very distracting. It only created drama encouraging viewers to “rant” during the trial.

I admit I did give it a try to participate in the chat provided by Local 6 and became bored with it feeling it was not productive. The best live feed action was on twitter using the hashtag #caseyanthony.
The twitter platform included tweets from all the news media in addition to opinions from tweets heard from around the world.

Now that the jury is in deliberation I will check in on the twitter feed now and then. What do you think? What is your favorite news channel to watch?
