eBay Sellers Get Branded Using Sticker Mule

Brand Advertising for eBay Sellers

We all know how brands can influence shopping decisions. Almost everyone has a favorite brand they wear, drive, eat or fly with.

Shoppers come to eBay because they trust the brand.

Buyers come to eBay because it’s a brand they trust. Why? Because eBay has strict standards only allowing dependable sellers to use the platform. They count on buyers to report bad sellers.

Bad sellers are removed from the marketplace. For more info visit eBay’s Rules and Regulations page. With that said, I wanted to share with you a company that I’ve been using to help promote my “Power Selling Mom” brand called “Sticker Mule”

The Sticker Mule Brand

Their logo includes the side view of a mule in front of the two tone words. I like they way they use all lower case and are able to blend the words together into one.

Meet Herman!

They use a friendly face of the mule to represent their brand named “Herman.” Every time an order is placed with Sticker Mule, they include two stickers. Both shown above along with a “Thank You” coaster as shown below.

Sticker Mule Thank You!

Sticker Mule offers more than just different types of stickers. They also provide branded shipping supplies which is perfect for eBay sellers.

Herman offers friendly tips along with offers while browsing the site.

Branded Shipping Supplies

Sticker Mule has two types of poly bags that are logo ready. You can customize according to your own specifications. No worries about errors because they will send you a proof and wait for approval before starting the printing process.

The next batch of bags ordered, I requested to repeat my brand on the bag. See results below.

I also had some bags made for the CEO of WorthPoint since he is an eBay seller. I thought it would be a great opportunity for him to promote his company, WorthPoint.com.

I requested these bags to show the logo, large and down the front as shown below.

Side note: they also have plain poly bags along with plain padded mailers. The graphics are on one side only. This leaves room on the other side to place a shipping sticker. I feel this is a brilliant presentation for the customer receiving an item in the mail.

Sticker Mule Shipping Tape

The only tape they have at this time is the water activated type. It has a gummy substance on the backside. Which activates to stick after it becomes wet. This is a common type of tape used by “big box” companies.

I placed orders for two different styles of branding on my tape. Notice one roll shows the tag line with my brand and the other is a simple style “PowerSellingMom.com.” Both style include my logo.

Do you have a dot com to match your brand?

It is helpful to market a brand with a dot com. Especially eBay sellers with eBay accounts or eBay stores. Setting up a dot com to match your brand is quite simple. I suggest starting with GoDaddy. Visit the site and do a quick search for your brand name.

Find the perfect .COM starting at just $4.99*! Shop Now!

Once you have a brand name ready you can “mask it” or “point” your name directly to an eBay store front, eBay listings or an eBay ID page. If you need assistance, GoDaddy has awesome customer service. A quick phone call,, they will walk you though it or set it up for you.

Great example

My son and his wife launched an eBay store a few years ago and they created a brand by combining both of their names into one: Tim and Bianca with the initial from their last name = TimBiaH.com which points to their eBay store.

The logo was born and I ordered stickers for them from Sticker Mule in celebration of their new eBay business.

Sticker Mule Treat

As a special treat I also included some “Mule Sauce” with the order sent to my son because I know how he loves “Hot Sauce.” I thought this was a fun addition to their special “Sticker gift” in celebration of the new logo and eBay business!

Sticker Mule Sales

Yes, they have great sales and special offers! Once you subscribe you will receive offers via email. This is a great time to pick something up for a friend or family member.

Example: Sticker Mule ran a sale on packaging tape. I ordered a roll for my son and his wife as a special surprise delivered right to their door.

Sticker Mule Labels

They have a large variety of label styles as shown below including the classic die cut. You can order a roll or a sheet.

I ordered a roll with my brand including the tag line and logo.

Pins/ Badges

Every eBay conference generally includes a “pin-swap”. Sticker Mule has a couple different sized pins. I bought a bag with my brand “PowerSellingMom” to bring to the next event.

The square badges are the perfect size to add a brand to what you’re wearing!

Example:

Preparing to speak with a client and you forgot a shirt or hat with the company logo? No worries, just add a badge and now branded!

More Than Just Stickers

My Favorite Sticker

My favorite Sticker Mule product can be seen on the back of my KIA SOUL!

Sticker Mule makes it fun to brand yourself!

Go ahead, be bold and get creative!

Everyone that knows me, knows I only promote companies I believe in. Sticker Mule is “Power Selling Mom Approved!”

BONUS:

When you visit Sticker Mule by clicking any of the “hot links – Sticker Mule” they will give us BOTH $10.00 credit! #WinWin Have fun and feel free to stop back by and share with me what did you buy at Sticker Mule!

A New eBay Shipping Solution!

“I’m so excited to share with you that I’ve partnered with Scotch Brand to help launch this awesome new shipping solution..”

It was such an honor to be invited to tour 3M headquarters in Minneapolis MN recently.

3m headquarters, scotch

The highlight of the trip was to be introduced to their new product titled;

“Scotch Flex & Seal Shipping Roll!”

I must say, I was very impressed with the company behind the Scotch brand and the staff that was behind the design of this amazing product. The “Scotch Flex & Seal Shipping Roll”.

I created an informational video for my fellow marketplace selling friends that explains more about the product shown at the bottom of this blog post. But, before you watch the video. please allow me to tell you more about this awesome product.

This shipping solution will be especially perfect for people shipping items that weigh less than three pounds and are not fragile.

Just think, you will not need to store:

  • Boxes,
  • Bubble Wrap
  • Filler
  • And “No tape needed”

Which means, you will be able to create a “compact” shipping area. The “Scotch Flex & Seal Shipping Roll” takes up 50% less space!

It’s available to purchase on eBay. Here is my direct affiliate link : https://bit.ly/scotchebay

What kind of items to ship?

It is recommended for small, non-fragile items such as books, clothing, accessories, home goods, non-breakable electronics. Basically any item that is not fragile and weighs under three pounds.

sticks to itself, not to your item

Scotch™ Flex & Seal Shipping Roll is guaranteed to stay sealed during shipment. Press firmly for guaranteed seal.

The product works best with at least a one-inch border. Conforms to the shape of your item to create a snug fit and reduce movement during shipping

Selling and Shipping Coins on eBay

ANACS, America’s Oldest Grading Service™ has been around since 1972. It was actually created by the American Numismatic Association (ANA) They have best practices for shipping coins.

John Hall from ANACS did a special video presentation for WorthPoint, Inc.

For those not familiar with WorthPoint, it’s the largest resource site on the internet. Storing data from past sales in the categories of: Art, Vintage Collectibles and Antiques.

Including Coins!

Enjoy the video and reading the transcripts below. Take it away John!

One of the first things that customers want to know when they’re getting ready to send their first submission to us is what is the best way to ship coins to us is.

Safest way to ship coins

There’s always a lot of questions that we get about this. I want to show you real quickly the safest and easiest way to send coins to us to make sure they get to us in the proper shape.

The first thing that you need to know is that the best thing to put coins in is mylar flips. These are 2.5×2.5 flips. They’re PVC free, and they’re really going to be safe for your coins. They’re going to make sure they get there without any additional damage.

coin shipping

It’s very easy to use mylar flips.

Of course, you want to take your coins by the edges, and you simply slide them into one of the pockets. The nice thing about these flips is they have two sides, and it leaves the other side, so that you can put in the information about your coin, which we’ve marked on the card.

Then you just want to make sure shut these with the openings inside, and the coin is going to be safe in there. It’s not going to get out. It’s not going to move around.

Go ahead and do this with all of these. While I’m doing this, I do want to let you know that it’s a bad idea to try to get two coins into one of these flips. These flips are designed so that they each hold one coin. It’s going to give them sufficient protection on either side.

Now that I have all of my coins in these flips, the temptation that you’re going to have the first time you send coins is to tape these up or staple them together. You’re going to feel like your coins are safer that way.

The reason that you don’t want to do that is when these coins get to wherever they’re going somebody is going to have to get these back out.

If there’s tape or staples in these, it’s really going to expose your coins to more potential harm. You just want to make sure that when the person gets these they can simply open them up and have access to your coins

Really, all you need to ensure that that is the case is a simple rubber band. You take a rubber band, you take the flips that you’ve already done, and if you just wrap a rubber band around it like so, these things aren’t going anywhere. These are ready to ship.

Coin shipping style

The next important thing is what kind of containers you should ship coins in. This is a pretty small submission, so we have a lot of options. The one thing, regardless of your submission size, that we tell people is to always ship in two layers. In this case, I have two very simple things that I can get from the Post Office. This is a bubble mailer, and this is a simple box.

All I’m going to do in this case is I’m going to use the mailer for my insider layer. I’m going to put the coins in like so. I’m going to roll that up. With all of these steps, you just want to make sure that stuff can’t move around.

If stuff can’t move around, your coins are going to be safe. Then I’m just going to take the box. I’m going to put them in there, and I’m going to seal the box. Don’t forget your submission form.

Don’t allow the coin to move around

One thing that you can always do is put in some additional material, if there’s extra room in a box like that. In this case, I have bubble wrap. I just go ahead and fill that extra space in with that. Close the box up like so. Now I have a secure box.

If I take this and shake it, there’s no way that the contents in there can move around. Now, if you have a lot more coins, you might want to do a smaller box inside of a larger box and just make sure that it won’t move around.

Basically, if this is all one piece, your coins are going to be absolutely safe. It’s going to be easier for the person on the other end to get to them to do what they need to do with them, and you’re going to be all set.

ANACS can grade coins if desired

The final thing you need to do is if you have one of our mailing labels, if you’re sending these to ANACS, you would just go ahead and affix that. At this point, and this is the really first time in the process that you should use tape, you just want to make sure you tape all the seams of this packaging shut. Now it’s ready to go in the mail.

I hope this is helpful to you. Thank you.

Coin shipping for eBay sellers!

The system Mr Hall shared in the video is the same technique eBay sellers can use after a sale on eBay. It’s better to ship coins using this style vs just tossing them in an envelope.

  • Slide the coin in a mylor envelope that is doubled.
  • Insert cardboard in one side of the envelope.
  • Wrap a rubber-band around it.
  • Slip it into a padded envelope.
  • Put the padded envelope in a small box.
  • Add more padding to protect it from sliding around as needed.
  • Seal the box with tape.
  • Print and add the shipping label.

USPS Informed Delivery® for eBay Buyers, Sellers and Consumers

What is Informed Delivery?

Residential consumers including eBay sellers can now use USPS’s Informed Delivery® Services. Those individuals who want to make use of the services will find sign up a simple process. First, you’ll have to visit USPS’s sign up page to get the process started.

Once on the page, there is an input box where you can enter a five-digit zip code. Entering the local code determines if the services are available in a specific area. The convenient service is optional and free in many local areas.

My husband and I have started using it. We like it very much. This is why I wanted to share this information with my readers.

The USPS Informed Delivery® system is a simple notification process.

what is informed delivery

Residents in areas where Informed Delivery® is already active can preview mail. People can see what they will receive in their mailbox before it gets there. Any letter-sized pieces of mail that passes through automation equipment undergoes scanning. The resident is then sent a digitized, gray-scale image of the letter’s exterior.

The image lets you view the sender’s name, address, and return address (if applicable). This service is exceptional for anyone who wants to know what mail is “on the way.”

Now, many people can use USPS’s services letting them know when mail will actually soon be “in the mailbox.” Users of the system can visit informeddelivery.usps.com. Sign up options are available at the same web address.

Types of Mail pieces for Preview

The front side of standard envelopes are just one type of mail where you can have a “sneak peek.” The Informed Delivery System® (IDS) is perfect for synchronized marketing campaigns. You’ll receive images of magazines, catalogs, and larger mailings before they actually arrive.

mailpiece types informed delivery

It even becomes easier to track and manage a package with a USPS Tracking® number from your dashboard within the USPS informed delivery site.

Doing so will help the buyer feel more confident about the shipping process. With a tracking number, a consumer can have greater control over package delivery. Current tracking information is just the beginning. Buyers expecting a shipment can:

• Find out when a package is on the way, even when away from home.
• Receive notification through email or text when a package is on the way.
• Can enter the USPS account area to reschedule a package delivery they might have missed.
• And, can enter in special delivery instructions to ensure the timely arrival of a package. The latter action is available through the free USPS Delivery Instructions™ feature.

The majority of domestic mail will pass through the automated equipment USPS uses. The information gets transmitted to a digitalized area online.

The area is the “dashboard” or hub, where people access mail tracking and scanning details. Domestic mail notifications are tracked separately from packages featuring a tracking number.

The dashboard displays images of the domestic mail pieces on the way to your address. The images are available for a seven-day period. Here is an example from my dashboard.

informed delivery dashboard

Tracked Package information will display for 15 days after each package delivery. Users can opt-in to receive email or text notifications about tracked packages. The system offers updates as the package makes its way through USPS’s mailing/delivery routes.

Notification of Service Availability

If you discover USPS’s services are not yet available in your area, there are still options. You can sign up for notification from USPS when the Informed Delivery® is available. You’ll need to provide a valid email address where you’ll receive future notifications.

The delay for some consumers may seem disappointing at first. However, the system is still in its infancy. Because the program is fairly new as of the date of this writing, it may not be available in every area.

In regions where there is a larger, highly populated area, it may take time before consumers can get access to this new service. All the multi-unit postal facilities on a route leading to a specific address must have the automated equipment.

Once the equipment is accessible, a special process for coding is put in place. Then services become active and available. If services are not available, USPS encourages you to check on the status of availability at a later date.

If the services are available, take the following easy steps below to sign up for your free account.

Step-by-Step Sign Up for Informed Delivery Services by USPS

Step 1: Create a personal usps.com account by answering the series of sign up questions. The system prompts you to create a user identification and password.

Step 2: Following account registration, access the account management page on USPS.com. Look to the upper right corner of the page after you sign in. There is a hyperlink reading “Informed Delivery.” Click on it. Then choose the “Enroll” option.

Note: The USPS system requires you to verify your identity within a 72-hour period. If you do not complete the verification process, you will have to do so the first time you sign into the account. The system page will provide you with a prompt.

Identify Verification Process

Visible Prompt: You’ll see red text reminding you to complete the account verification requirements. Following verification, you can sign up for Informed Delivery solutions.

Please note: You might have to bring identity documents to the nearest USPS facility for verification. Failure to verify your identity immediately will force you to wait three days before you can sign up.

Step 3: When signing up for Informed Delivery options, you’ll have to provide your mailing address. If services are open in your area, you’ll start getting incoming mail notices in about seven days.

mail arriving soon

Watch your email inbox. The subject heading will read: Informed Delivery Daily Digest

Informed Delivery Perks

So, how is Informed Delivery helpful to consumers?

Well, if you’ve ever wondered if “the check is in the mail,” now you can address your concerns a lot sooner. If you’ve ever worried about getting a package containing something you’ve paid good money for, the IDS® system will help keep you informed.

Users of the new system get insight into what’s about to arrive. The service gives people a chance to plan for when they are expecting an important delivery.

informed delivery dashboard

Accessing Mail Information On-the-Go

Users of this new system can access information about mail while on the go. The program is accessible through home computers, tablets, and mobile devices.

There’s a downloadable app available through the Apple App store. Google also has a free app listing for USPS’s Informed Delivery Service. Windows also has an app for accessing the new USPS information system.

The convenience of the mobile applications is evident. Even when you’re away from home, you can have full knowledge of what is (or should be) sitting in the mailbox. You can also have someone you trust intercept your mail delivery while you are away. awaiting your return.

Summary of Informed Delivery System’s Benefits:

• Timely knowledge of important mailings

• Foreknowledge of what to expect in the mailbox.

• Downloadable applications for mobile devices let you access information while on the go.

• The system has terrific accessibility for owners of Windows, Apple iOS, and Google Android-operated devices.

• An easy to navigate dashboard presents you with gray-scale images of mailings.

• Even when traveling, you can find out what will wind up in your mailbox.

• The program is free of charge; there’s no monthly or yearly subscription fee for its use.

• The Informed Delivery System will become accessible to more residential customers soon.

Getting Notifications via the Informed Delivery System

Users of the system can get notified about mailings on any day the mail is deliverable. When the postal service is closed, no notifications are sent out on that day. The notifications residents receive are delivered to an active email address. Use the following hints to ensure you get USPS notifications on upcoming mailings:

It is best to add USPS’s contact information to your email address book. It helps to prevent any of your notifications from going through the spam filter.

Use the mailto:USPSInformedDelivery@usps.gov email address to add to your contacts.

You can opt-in out or of email notification at any time through the delivery system’s dashboard.

If you prefer receiving updates by text, you can choose the option through the dashboard. After signing into your account, click on the hyperlink for “Settings.” After entering your phone number in the “details” section, you’ll be notified by text.

Final Takeaway: The Informed Delivery System’s Many Advantages

The newest mail delivery enhancement from the United States Postal Service is something that can give consumers peace of mind. With the ability to preview mailings and to track packages, consumers can buy and sell items with greater confidence about shipment. Each morning notifications are sent via the method you choose: Text or directly to the digitized dashboard.

Marketers, including those who sell items on the eBay platform, get additional methods for reaching their target audience. You get all this from a free application, so there’s no doubt the system is certainly cost effective!

Sold 16 items on ebay shipping show transcripts

I sold it on eBay for a nice profit – The Shipping Show

Hi, everybody, Danna Crawford here, aka PowerSellingMom.com. Welcome to The Shipping Show. Today, I’m getting ready to ship about 16 items I had sold over the weekend. It was Easter weekend, so happy belated Easter, if you celebrate it, or April Fools! Hope everybody had fun. I know I did, but I worked all weekend.

My goal was to list as much as possible, because I had a lot of action figures. If you follow me on Instagram, just look for my name, Danna Crawford, all one word on Instagram, and you can see some of the sales that I made. I did post them on Instagram.

Meanwhile, let me show you. Okay, so how my shipping shows work, first I show you the item, how much it sold for, and where it’s going, and then how I ship it and how much it costs. Let’s get started.

sold imhof clock on ebay

This is the first item I’m going to ship today. This is an Imhof clock, and it’s very old. I don’t know if it’s brass or bronze, but it had a unique face. You can see the sundial. It’s hard to date it. It could be the ‘50’s. I put it up there. I did find a few on WorthPoint, but they had a different face. They were very comparable.

The value on it could have been anywhere from $100 to $30,000, so I wasn’t sure. Because of the face, I couldn’t find one exactly like it. So, I listed on eBay as an auction, and I started it at $99, because I knew the collectors would show up.

I wish it was the $30,000 clock, but it wasn’t. It sold for $185. It’s going to Hong Kong through the Global Shipping Program. Thanks to the Global Shipping Program, that’s what helps my auctions go for more money, because people from out of the country like to bid.
Let’s package it up. This is going to have to be double bubbled, double boxed.

As you can see, I have secured this in bubble wrap with my favorite eBay tape. Now I’m going to double box it. I paid $10.33. I double boxed it. I used my own box, and then I put Priority Mail stickers on it.

I always like to mark glass, fragile, and I know for a fact that the Post Office respects our packages, and I know that it helps. It’s going to Kentucky. That’s the Global Shipping Program, and then from there it’s going to Hong Kong.

Let’s see what’s next.

Next, I have this bottle of perfume. Those that know me know how I hate inventory, so I like to liquidate things that have been around too long, and this was one of those items. I sold a bunch of perfumes, and this was one that was left. I put it up on auction for $0.99, and someone won it for $0.99. Lucky them!

Let’s see where it’s going. Shipping was $4.10 First Class. It’s going to Lakewood, Washington. I used one of my eBay bags, and I always put the sticker on this side, so that they can see that they can rip it off right there. Then they can reuse the bag.

I have an ornament now. I’ll just show you. Next, I sold this Christmas ornament, so let’s go see how much it sold for. This is Witchblade, and, again, this was a liquidation item, but it did sell for $5.00, and they paid for shipping. Shipping was $2.92, and it’s going to Elma, New York.

sold hot tub button on ebay

This is a hot tub air button. I guess, people use these for garbage disposals as well. I sell these quite often, and I have a lot of them. If you’re in the market for a hot air button, hot tub air button, they’re $19.99, and they’re in my eBay store. Shipping was $2.66, and it’s going to Connors, Georgia.

sold music box on ebay

Next, I have this lovely old music box. I put this on auction at $74.99, and it only had one bid. The value on these is all over the place. According to WorthPoint, some have sold for as much as $200, but it depends what’s on them, and it also depends what song they play. This one plays, I don’t know. I think it’s kind of sad. I don’t know. Name that tune. It’s very cool. You could use it as a pocket watch and/or people would wear them as a pendant, and it is stamped.

Let’s see where it’s going. Shipping was $6.35. I put it in a box, and then I was able to put the box in the Flat Rate envelope for $6.35, because it included insurance. You can’t be Priority Mail when you need insurance. It’s going to City Industry, California. Happy to have a new home.

sold dita mann on ebay

I sold these men’s glasses. These were on auction, and they started at $49.99. They sold for $191. They are really cool. They’re called Dita Mann. They come in this lovely case. They’re awesome. Let’s see where they’re going. This is going to the Bronx in New York. It’s an apartment. I put it in a sturdy box, and I insured it. They actually paid $7.00 shipping, and with insurance it cost me $10.30 for shipping.

Jimmy, do you have any shipping?
Jimmy: No, I do not. I wasn’t as lucky as you. Never as lucky as her. She’s lucky. She’s got some good stuff though.

order USPS boxres

Okay. I put this in a sturdy box. This is the 6x7x7. You can order these from the USPS.com website. They’re awesome boxes. I use these to ship coffee mugs too. I do not like the envelope method. I know too many people that have not had good luck with those. I like these.

Next, this one I just wanted to get rid of. I did $0.99. This is a Porsche diecast. I did an auction, starting bid $0.99, free shipping. It sold for $6.50, so not too bad. Free shipping. Let’s see how cheap we can ship this. I put it in a bag, and then I wrapped the big bubble wrap around it. I buy my bubbles from Bubblefast.com, and they have the best price and the best bubble wrap on the planet.

Now, I will put it in a shipping bag. It’s going to Clayton, North Carolina, and shipping was $4.10. Not a big profit margin here, but that’s okay. Somebody’s happy with it. It’s going to a good home. It’s better than in my garage.

Next, some tie racks. Here, we have two tie racks. I honestly did not think these would sell for very much. Together, they sold for $26 plus shipping. I’m thankful that they sold at all. I honestly didn’t expect much for them. Let’s see who gets to own these lovely tie racks. Shipping was $8.22, and it’s going to Yorktown, Virginia.

I used one of these tube mailers. Fit in there very nicely. I like using these. These are great. You pay by weight on these. You can order these for free from the USPS website. They actually come in two different sizes, so I thought I’d show them to you. This is a large one. It’s reversible. If wanted to ship Express Priority, you have that said, or regular Priority on this side. Then they come in two sizes. I used the smaller one. You can order these for free, with free shipping, and then when you fold them up, they turn into a triangle size, which I use these a lot for posters and things like that, or anything long like this situation.

What’s next? I’m saving the best for last, so wait till I tell you about this guy. Is he crazy looking? You have to wait. Stay tuned.

sold on ebay cole haan belt

Next, I have a lovely Cole Haan belt. I had this on auction. Started at $0.99, and it sold for $11.50. I will roll it up. Usually when I sell belts this is how I ship them. I roll them up like this. Then I put it in a bag, put tape around it, so that I can mail it First Class. Just like that.

I just put it in a baggy like this, and then I’ve got my WorthPoint information, and then I’ve got my business card. Shipping was $2.79, and it’s going to Flushing, New York. Don’t you love these bags? You can get these on eBay. You can buy them.

Here we have a JCrew blazer, and it’s linen. This had been in my store for a while. It’s a size 2. I shot it out to auction. It started at $0.99, and it closed at $12.50. Let’s see where it’s going. Shipping was $6.35. I put this in a Flat Rate envelope. It’s going to Baltimore, Maryland. It’s ready to go.

Next, we have this Kenneth Cole darling swimming suit. I have a lot of swimming suits in my eBay store, so go take a look. I have about 100 swimming suits in my eBay store. This one is a Kenneth Cole. It was asking price, retail, at $107. I accepted an offer of $40, and it’s so cute. Look how sexy that is. It’s got a nice back, and I love the color. Look great with my hair, if I was that tiny. That would be good. $40.

Go to my eBay store. Make an offer on a swimming suit.

Let’s see where this one is going.

combine shipping

Okay, I had someone contact me and ask me to combine shipping if he would buy these two items. He made an offer of $350 for Batman, and then $350 for Superman. I gave him a deal at $700 for both. They are sealed in these boxes. I can’t take them out, but I can show you the listing.

Meanwhile, this is the Superman box, and they’re both pretty big. I know they’re ship to Florida, and that was another reason why I accepted an offer of $700 for both. Shipping was $24.52, and that was for insurance up to $700. I was able to get them both into one box, and also I was able to combine the shipping, because he did check out separately with the two items and paid for them separately.

I had to go into bulk edit and then combine orders. That worked out great. I was able to insure it for the $700.

speakers sold on ebay

Next, I have a set of two of these Sony speakers, and they were laying around the garage. I wanted to get rid of them. I put them up as an auction for $0.99, and they sold for $20.50, and there’s two of them. They’re kind of heavy. The guy wrote me a note and said, please pack well and do not let them touch each other to bang together. I’m going to package them up, and he also paid for shipping.

The speakers are going to have to go Fed Ex, because on the Postal Service it was $45, and on Fed Ex it was $22. I’ve got them pretty securely packed in here, but the pain is I’ve got to go drop them off now at Fed Ex. I hate doing that, but I’ll go get ice cream.

I forgot to mention, the speakers are going to Tucson, Arizona. That’s that.

shipped to the netherlands

Next, I have this beautiful clock. I had this on eBay. Asking price was $750. An offer came in for $650. I had a lot more lowball offers that I declined. Finally, somebody offered $650. I was selling this on consignment, and the owner wanted to sell it for no less than $500, so we sold it for $650. I’m pretty happy about it.

It’s going to the Netherlands. As you can imagine, we’re going to use a lot of bubble wrap and double box. I paid $36.67 to ship this to the Global Shipping Center, and then they will ship it on to the Netherlands. I could have saved money and shipped it on Fed Ex, but, personally, I don’t trust Fed Ex with glass, breakable items. I feel safer with the Postal Service. I think I have two more.

sold agnew nixon signed on ebay

Next, I sold this for $300, and I probably would have got more if it had two certificates of authenticity. It only had the one for Agnew. This is Agnew and Nixon. They’re two signed letters. If you follow my auctions, you might have seen I just had one from Humphrey Bogart. I sold for, I think, it was $300. I don’t know. I sold this for $300. Let’s see where it’s going.

It’s going to Illinois. Shipping was $37.81. That’s insured for $300. Priority Mail. I made my own box. I do this with items like this. I use the Regional C. I don’t know if you remember those. I don’t know if you can get them anymore. I fold them up, and they make great boxes. Of course, this is double boxed. It is about 10 pounds. It’s safe and secure. I’ve been shipping like this for years. Knock on wood, never had a breakage. Barrington, Illinois. My daughters used to play soccer there many moons ago.

Final, Darth Vader. Okay. Can you see the resemblance?

This is what Darth Vader looks like under the mask. This is called the unmasked Darth Vader. He’s so cool. Anyhow, I put him up on auction for $9.99. He sold for $282. Awesome. The fun thing was I couldn’t find one like him that was unmarked. He is unmarked. There are other ones out there, but they have a different marking on them, and this one did not. It was luck of the draw. I put him on and rolled the dice.

sold darth vader on ebay

Here we are. The man behind the Darth Vader mask. Let’s see where he’s going. With insurance, it was $14.53. It is going to Madison, Wisconsin, his new home. I miss him already.

That is it for me. That was a lot. Unless somebody paid for something and I haven’t seen it yet. I’m also waiting for an offer on Thor, my Thor figurine. That’s it.

WorthPoint

Just to let you know, everything that I list on eBay I don’t list without researching completed listings on eBay first, and then going to WorthPoint and looking at the history of the items going back 15 years. That’s the beauty of WorthPoint.

I accepted a little position with WorthPoint last September. It’s been a great honor for me to be on the WorthPoint team, because I was already a huge fan. Now, I get to do these treasure hunts with them. We do treasure hunts once a month. I’m going to add links to everything below that I’ve mentioned in this presentation.

Jimmy just had one item sold, so I’m going to go get him, so he can share what he sold, his big item. Here’s Jimmy with his item.

Jimmy: Hello, everyone. Remember me? I sold one item. It’s the Wii. It’s sealed, and I sold it for $32.99. Lucky me, huh? I’m going to ship it, but at least I sold something.
Let’s see where it’s going. Where’s it going?

Jimmy: It’s going to Wake Forest, North Carolina, and it costs $2.66 to ship. So, that’s me finished with all my shipping. This is it.

Jimmy: Lucky Danna here. Remember, as before, nothing has changed. If I don’t see you through the week, I will definitely see you through the window. Have a great life.

We’ll put that out for the mail carrier. Now we’re going to put everything out on the bench. Everything is ready for the Post Office to pick up. Ready to roll. There’s all our boxes, and now the cats came come in the house. The shipping tape sound is over now.

Thank you so much. Thank you for watching. I’ll do my best to try to put more shipping shows out. Look at the links below and come join us on Facebook and join in on the conversation on Instagram and all those fun places. Until next time, bye. I’m Danna Crawford. Have a great eBay selling day.

Road Trip Shipping Using the Roadie App

cheap shipping

“On the road again” is the classic Willie Nelson song that comes to mind every time I use the awesome app called “Roadie!” I use it for eBay shipping and for making money.

I first learned about the Roadie App when I was a guest speaker in Vegas last year for an eBay event. The Roadie App team introduced themselves to me and I soon learned that the Founder and CEO of Roadie, Marc Gorlin used to work at “Kabbage” (another awesome resource I will cover another time). Marc Gorlin and his team shared with me information about their new smartphone delivery app called “Roadie.” My husband and I both downloaded it and kept a watch-out for “gigs” to appear during out travels.

Roadie App Gigs for eBay Shipping

What are Roadie Gigs? Gigs are ‘job postings’ created by people (eBay Sellers) who need to ship an item from point A to point B.

The eBay seller takes a photo of the item, enters the to and from location and uploads the photo. Easy! They also insert the desired asking delivery price or allow offers – which gives the drivers an opportunity to respond with proposals.

Everyone that has downloaded the app, will see gigs pop up while the app is live and running. Gigs are geolocation based. Below, you’ll find a step-by-step tutorial on how to use the Roadie app as a delivery driver but first, let’s take a look at how to post a Gig.

Roadie App Makes eBay Shipping Easy!

eBay sellers needing items shipped would create  a “gig” in the system and wait for “Roadies” to accept or make an offer to deliver the item. Follow along:

Step 1:

  • Give the gig a name.
  • Enter the Declared value (for insurance reasons)
  • How big aka what size is your item.

roadie gig

Step 2:

  • Add the pick-up location address. NOTE: be sure to match it with a google suggested address which will include a map.
  • Who will the driver see at pick-up? You,  Someone else or will it be left outside?

where is the item located

Step 3:

  • Add the address delivery location
  • Who will meet the driver or include instructions for the driver to leave the item in an area at the location.

Once you enter the info you will see a price quote appear to give you an idea how much it will cost.  eBay sellers can then prepare an invoice to send to the buyer, either through PayPal or directly on eBay. NOTE: for large items always adjust the shipping options to “freight shipping” This will allow more time to make arrangements for shipping without receiving a penalty from eBay.

roadie driver delivery

Step 4:

  • How soon do you need the item delivered?
  • Whenever or by a specific date and time?

roadie shipping time

Step 5:

  • Upload a photo
  • Add any information that the driver may need to know ahead of time.
  • Next they will ask : Are there any additional expenses involved in this Gig that you’d like to cover? These expenses may include parking fees, tolls, extra hassle, etc. This is the area you could add a price if needed.

couch shipping from ebay

Final Step –  6:

  • Add insurance if needed
  • Post the Gig

roadie gig ready

Roadie App Delivery Drivers Make $$$

Once the gig is uploaded into the app, all registered “Roadies”  will receive alerts that there is a gig available. It’s easy to view the pick-up and drop-off locations of the item and learn more about the item along with terms which could be suggested times to pick-up and desired date range of dropping off the item.

The concept is to keep the shipping low-cost because the driver is already traveling to an area, so why not pick-up an item before leaving on a trip and then drop-off an item and make a few bucks to help out with the driving expenses on a trip already planned!

Becoming a driver is an easy process. The app will walk you through the steps.  READY TO GET STARTED?

Roadie App Verified Pet and Animal Delivery Drivers

Gigs can even include animals to be hauled. Roadie pet drivers must be pre-approved and be prepared to make “potty” stops when needed.pet delivery service

Once approved the driver will receive a badge and then he/she can start accepting gigs to deliver the precious cargo.

This app opens up the doors for more options  to all eBay sellers as well as for personal use. I’m now in the habit to check the app before I travel just to see if I can pick-up a package or a few along the journey.

For example, I recently picked up some luggage as a gig that Delta Airlines had posted from the Gainesville FL ariport. I was already in Gainesville and going that way, so I picked up the bag and dropped it off to a lovely lady that was patiently waiting for her bag to arrive.

The cool thing about all this is, the app shows my location to both the sender and the receiver. Delta was watching me arrive at the airport and then again watching my route from their app. The lady waiting for the suitcase was also watching my travels on the app at her end. It was so accurate I never even had time to knock on her door. She already knew I had arrived.

She then approached me with a 4 digit code number that she had received from Delta via Roadie. I simply took a photo of the bag and uploaded the 4 digit code and “poof” gig complete. The money was in my bank account a few days later! Cha-Ching!

eBay Shipping Workshop

ebay shipping tips

With each eBay presentation I give the biggest fear for the new eBay seller is “shipping” and the concern for the established eBay seller is “How to ship furniture and/or larger items?”  Based on many of the questions I’ve received and emails that came in on this topic I’ve put together a unique workshop that is strictly dedicated to shipping!

We will touch base on how to file an insurance claim if there is an issue and how to deal with domestic and international shipping disputes.

Join me for this informative, hands-on workshop. Everyone will go home with enough shipping supplies and have the skills to be organized with getting the shipping done in a timely, easy to follow system.

Everyone is welcome to bring a laptop and/or mobile device but it is not necessary.  WiFi will be available when we have the workshops at the College of Central Florida in Ocala. If attending a workshop at a different location, please check the availability of WiFi if needed. The only advantage of having a device handy would be to adjust any settings while we are live that you may have on your eBay account during the workshop. But please keep in mind, this workshops main focus is “Shipping.” All other types of eBay questions may be asked at the end if time permits but I would appreciate staying on topic.

Workshop Goals:

How to ship large items like a boss

OK, all you shipping scaredy-cats! This article is just for you!

If you don’t know what you’re doing, shipping costs can easily eat into your eBay profits. Shipping an item might cost more than anticipated or an item might not sell because the shipping price seems high to potential buyers.

Because of this, every day I watch folks lose out on BIG money as they are intimidated by shipping large items. They simply don’t know how to ship large items and, so, never bid on them at auctions or don’t buy them at garage sales, thrift stores, estate sales, etc.

Well, today I’m going to help take the fear out of shipping large itemsbecause I’m going to show you how easy it is to ship them! Not only is it a snap to ship big things, but you can make money on the shipping fees!

How to ship large items

Shipping a big ol’ Golf Bag is a breeze!

Golf Bags are big. And heavy – even without the golf clubs in them. Watch the video to see how ea-ea-easy and ch-ch-cheap it was to building a shipping box.

See how I was able to save money on shipping this monster!

If you don’t care for video or would like more instructions, below is the full transcript from the video:

Shipping a Golf Bag

How to build a large shipping box & ship a large item

Here we are. We sold the golf bag, and now I’m going to prepare to ship it. We found this great box, this cardboard. We’re recycling.

It looks like it’s from a floral, and we opened it all up. Now I’m going to cut it to fit the golf bag. First, I’m going to wrap it in plastic, because I think all things should be wrapped in plastic before you ship them, and then we’ll get it in the box.

Stay tuned. I like to always include a handwritten note and my business card.

So I’m going to put my business card in there, and I’m going to write just a quick little note telling them thank you. I’ll include that in here.

We’re going to go ahead and fold this up, make sure everything’s nice and secure. I’ve got a garbage bag, extra big garbage bag to put around the golf bag. I’m going to bring it together as tight as I can to secure it. Put a second bag over it.

I like to put bags over everything to protect it from the elements, because you never know.

Now we’ve got to create the box and make it fit. First we get it to where we’re going to want it to sit and kind of measure it. This cardboard’s not as easy to bend as the other cardboard was that I had.

What I’m going to do is figure out exactly where it’s going to bend.

First make sure your box it totally apart. That will help things. It already has some folds in it, so I’m going to try to get it near the folds, and I’m going to score it where I want to bend it to make the shape. This side I’m going to score it there so it’ll bend. There you go.

Now I can cut off some of this excess. I’m going to cut it right on the seam. If I was outside I would use a utility knife, but I don’t want to cut my carpet. The things we do.

I paid $25 for this golf bag, and I sold it for $147. I want to try to get the clean cut first.

I got a little bit too much excess at the top that I’m going to need to cut off, because the more cardboard you have, the heavier it’s going to be. I found a utility knife, so this is going much better. That makes life much easier.

Don’t get cut!

Now I can get rid of that excess. Get it nice and tight as it will go. It helps to be organized. Get the tape all the way around it to get it secure, and then you can come back.

Now we’ll start shaping the ends. There we go. I’m just going to tape this to make it secure for now while I go finish off the other end, and then I’ll come back and make it better. Now we’ve got to make this one, be careful not to cut the bag.

All your odd shaped items, don’t be afraid to sell them when you can make extra money just because you think you can’t ship it. Everything can be shipped. Just get yourself some cardboard. There’s plenty out there.

I want to tape all the way around it. I think that’s really important. You should go all the way around it one way, because that gives it added security to do it a couple times. Something this big I’m going to around it a couple times.

Now I’m ready to do the finishing touches on it, and then I’ll print out my label, and it will be ready to go. I got the label printed, now we’re going to put it on the top. I like the way this stands up, so I got it pretty secure. I want to be able to make sure the mailman can read this to deliver it.

It’s going to Frisco, Texas. I did insure it, because when I sell something that has a high dollar value like this I think it’s important to insure our packages.

I want to make sure that they keep this standing up, so I’m going to make little arrows with my marker, so it’s like this end up. Then they’ll know where to find the address label.

It will let the mailman know. What else I’m going to do is I’m going to write on here, GreenShippingRocks.com. It’s just a fun thing to add to my packages. Maybe they’ll join the green team.

That’s how you can ship a golf bag, so don’t be afraid to sell them! If you find them at the thrift stores, pick them up and get them listed on eBay!

Shipping vinyl records & creating custom record shipping boxes

I always get tons of questions about how to sell records online.

And here’s what I always say;

“Selling vinyl records on eBay is just like selling any other collectible. You can go to a garage sale, flea market, estate sale, etc. and hit the motherlode! However, unless your entire eBay store is dedicated to selling records online, making a profit is generally about moving lots of LP’s for less than “motherlode money”. Then, when you get to the end of the year, you see all those little amounts added up to a LOT!”

Once you do have a good selection of vinyl LP’s listed on eBay and starting to sell, make sure you know how to properly create custom record shipping boxes.

This isn’t as easy as it might seem.

Yes, records are made from vinyl and are sturdy enough, but vintage records can become a bit brittle with age. If the records aren’t packaged well, breakage can easily occur.

Broken items cause returns and returns are no fun so make double-for-sure the record shipping boxes and packing materials are top quality, even though they are “handmade”.

If you don’t like the video or prefer reading instructions, below is a complete transcript of the video.

Shipping vinyl records & creating custom record shipping boxes tutorial

Hi, everybody. I’m Danna Crawford, the eBay Power Selling Mom. Thanks for joining me.

I actually had a lot of people ask me about how I go about shipping record albums on eBay, and it’s funny, because I actually had a sale this weekend. So I get to show you how I’m going to ship.

First thing you’ll need, of course, is a record album. This is my photo center. This is where I take all my photos for eBay, and I have a table set up, but this session is not about photos.

Anyhow, I sold this record for $65, and they paid $3 something shipping. In the record album category, there’s a maximum that you can charge for shipping.

I’m a believer in doing free shipping and charging for shipping. I do a combination of both, so they kind of help each other out along the way, but again that’s another segment.

For now, I want to share with you how I’m going to ship this record album.

I’ve been doing it this way for years, and I used to have all my kid’s friends come over and help me cut priority mail boxes, because it just works so well, especially when I have a lot of record albums that I’m going to be shipping.

It’s nice to have them made up ahead of time. You’re going to need a shirt box. This is a regular priority mail shirt box. It’s not flat rate.

When you order these you just order the priority mail shirt box. Here’s the numbers from the box, if you want to check that out.

The first thing I do is I open it up along the seam, so I’ll split it open so that it’s wide open. Then I fold in these edges so that this will form a nice area to hold the record album in. It gives it a nice, secure fit. So you fold these in, and then you bring it up to the top, like this. What we’re doing is we’re making a shipping envelope, a priority mail shipping envelope.

You can cut these little things off on each side if you want to, but I use them. I think that they also help. Sometimes I’ll put them on the inside, or you can put them on the outside. I actually like them on the inside. Then fold them up this way. Then all you do is bring the two sides in to hold like that, and there you have it.

    There is your envelope.

When I get these ready ahead of time I bring it up to the part where it’s going to stick to the other side, and then stop there, then fold it over and stick it good. Do the same to the other side. Start at the bottom.

Like I said, you can make a bunch of these up ahead of time. Then it saves you time on shipping day.

When my kids were young and their friends would come over, I’d say, “I’ll pay you guys. You can help me out.” I’d line them all up on the floor, and they would make these for me, because it’s a way to go.

Why buy boxes when there’s free stuff available?

I was talking to some people that are buying priority mail boxes, and they’re paying like $0.50 a box, and then they’re doing free shipping, on and on. Everybody’s different. My friend may have one way. Your friend may have another way. I’m just sharing with you how I do it.

Now that that is ready there the next thing I’ll do is I’ll put it in a plastic bag. The other important part, see this one has a seam split, is some people don’t like if there’s a good sleeve inside a lot of record collectors do not like the record shipped inside the sleeve. They want it shipped outside the sleeve, because they want to protect that inside sleeve so that it doesn’t get split.

The other thing that’s important is when you ship it you don’t want it to roll out of the package. You don’t want it to roll out, so you don’t want to ship it with this opening up. What I do is I put it in a bag.

I’ve got this nice Schwann’s bag. I make sure that the plastic is covering the opening to the record. Then you just fold it up pretty. I also put my business card in there. Fold it up nice and pretty.

Now I’ll put a piece of bubble wrap around it, just for some added protection. I will put the bubble wrap around it to help protect it. I probably wouldn’t double bubble it, but for the sake of speed right now. Then I just slide it into the pocket, the envelope that I created.

You want to make sure that it doesn’t catch on the sticky part as you’re going in. Make sure that these are still up. It can be kind of tricky as you work it in.

    There we go.

Then it’s a nice snug fit, and then I just peel off the side pieces and secure it down. I push those down, and then I fold it over this way. Then I put one ear back and one ear back. There you have it. Now I’ll put tape around the sides, around the ears, across the top. You can even seal off the edges if you want with tape and put another piece. I like to put another piece around the bottom, because that’s what I do.

Now I’m going to print my label out on eBay, but before I do that I always write with a marker.

    I’ll write, “Do Not Crush”.

    That’s it.

When I print my label I’ll put my label on there, and then I’ll write “Do Not Crush” on it as well. Let me go get my label ready, and then I’ll finish it off.

Shipping was $5.47, and it’s going to New Jersey. I was able to print out the label, and being a top rated seller on eBay you get insurance up to $100 with priority mail, so another reason why it’s worth shipping priority mail, because you’re insured.

That’s it. I hope it will help you with your shipping of record albums, and if you have any questions contact me! Until next time, happy eBay selling.
