Consignment Updates 2023

consignment agreement

This is an updated notice for new and existing consignors. This will void any previous consignment agreements as of 1/25/23.

Due to the price increases on eBay and other online marketplaces, I’ve had to adjust my consignment terms of service. The breakdown is shown below to help everyone understand the increase. I’ve been a one-woman business, and my time is valuable. I have been more than fair with my fees over the years, and now to remain in business, the fees will be adjusted accordingly.

Listing Fee per item = $5.00

This fee includes the following:

  • Researching prices
  • Researching brands
  • Taking photos
  • Editing photos
  • Measuring items
  • Creating the listing
  • Setting the category placement
  • Monitoring the listing
  • Researching pricing trends
  • Adjusting the prices as needed over the life of the listing
  • Finalizing auctions when needed, and turning the item into a new listing
  • Storing the item until it sells

Note: the fee is not charged upfront; it is deducted from the total after the sale.

Final Sale Fees

The final value fees are different per marketplace. The basics on eBay are 30 cents per item and a percentage of each sale, with an average of about 15%. Due to the updates at eBay, sales need a promotional boost, which includes an additional 10% of each boost again, depending on the item type and price.

The 50/50 will now be adjusted, with all fees included. We will split the total less the fees.

Fees include:

  • Shipping
  • Promotions
  • Upgrades
  • Final value

Again, the fees adjust according to each marketplace. Items may be added to one or more of a few marketplaces depending on the item, such as:

  • eBay
  • Etsy
  • Poshmark
  • Mercari
  • Depop
  • Grailed
  • Instagram
  • Facebook

I will continue to do my best to sell your items for the highest dollar at the time of the listing, based on the current market value. The price will be dropped after 6 months or more and sent to auction after a year.

If the item does not sell after being sent to auction the item will be relisted again at a low selling price. If the item has not been sold within an adjusted period of time, such as two years, the item will then be pulled and become my property. I will then dispose of it in a way that works best for me, such as a donation to the needy.

Returned Items

For any items that are listed and the consignor decided they want the item returned, there will be a $25.00 stop the listing fee, and will be charged a shipping fee to return the item.

Please know that I work hard to protect my reputation as a consignment seller. Part of my business includes traveling and speaking at various events around the country. I’ll continue to do my best to get items listed as quickly as possible. New clients are only being accepted with high-end items. Everyone is responsible for shipping or dropping off their items to me. I do not pay for the delivery of items.

Please contact me with any questions or concerns.

All the best to our selling success,

Danna Crawford, CEO/Founder PowerSellingMom.com
