Have you ever had a “lightbulb moment” that was immediately followed by a “palm-to-forehead” moment? Thatโs exactly what happened to me recently. As many of you know, Iโve been diving deep into the world of Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing). Itโs an exciting extension of my reselling business, allowing me to create digital assets that turn into physical products.
But even after years of being in the e-commerce game, I still manage to learn new lessons the hard way. Today, I want to pull back the curtain on my very first book project, the Kawaii Coloring Book for Kids Ages 4โ8, and share a major lesson I learned about branding that might just help you in your own business journey.
The Secret Identity Crisis
When I first sat down to create this book, I was over the moon. Iโve always loved the “kawaii” aesthetic, those super cute, wide-eyed characters that originated in Japan. I knew I wanted to create a cute animal coloring book that was perfect for little hands. I spent hours Curating the best designs and making sure the lines were thick and the drawings were engaging.
But then, I hit the “Publisher Name” field on Amazon.
For some reason, I got a little shy. I thought, “Well, Iโm the Power Selling Mom. People come to me for eBay tips and reselling strategies. Will they really want to buy a coloring book from a ‘Power Selling Mom’?”
In a moment of overthinking, I decided to create a brand-new pen name/publishing house: Quiet Mind Publishing. It sounded peaceful. It sounded professional. It also sounded like… nobody.
And if youโre curious what I actually published during that whole โwhat am I doing?โ phase, hereโs the book: Kawaii Coloring Book for Kids Ages 4โ8 on Amazon.

Why Branding Matters (And Why I Kicked Myself)
A few weeks after the book launched on February 16, 2026, it hit me. I have spent decades building the Power Selling Mom brand. You know me, you trust me, and weโve built a community together. By hiding behind “Quiet Mind Publishing,” I was essentially starting from zero. I was throwing away the most valuable asset I have: my reputation.
If you are a reseller or an entrepreneur, you know that your brand is your promise to your customer. Whether youโre selling a vintage McCoy cookie jar on eBay or a kawaii coloring book on Amazon, people buy from people they know.
I realized that “Power Selling Mom” isnโt just about selling on eBay; itโs about the power of being an independent seller and creator. My mission is to help you find ways to grow your income, and that includes showing you the ropes of new ventures like KDP.
Needless to say, my future books are all going under Power Selling Mom Publishing. Lesson learned: Stick with your brand. Own your work. Don’t let “imposter syndrome” make you hide your light under a generic bushel!
A Closer Look at the Kawaii Coloring Book for Kids
Despite my branding blunder, I am incredibly proud of this book. It was my first “baby” in the publishing world, and I put a lot of heart into making it the best coloring book for kids ages 4-8 on the market. If you want to peek at it (or grab a copy), you can check it out right here: Kawaii Coloring Book for Kids Ages 4โ8 on Amazon.
If you have little ones: or if youโre looking for the perfect gift: here is what makes this book special:
1. 60 Simple and Fun Designs
I didn’t want a book that was so complex it would frustrate a four-year-old. This book is packed with 60 different animals. Weโre talking playful puppies, cuddly kittens, jungle friends, and even sweet ocean creatures.
2. Big, Bold Lines
One of the biggest complaints parents have about coloring books is that the lines are too thin, making it hard for kids who are still developing their motor skills. I made sure these designs have thick, bold outlines to help children stay inside the lines and build their confidence.
3. Single-Sided Pages
Is there anything worse than a child using a marker and having it bleed through to the masterpiece on the next page? I designed this book with single-sided pages to reduce bleed-through. Plus, it makes it easier to tear out a page and hang it on the fridge!
4. The Perfect Format
The book is a large 8.5 x 11-inch format. Itโs big, itโs easy to handle, and it provides plenty of space for creative expression. (And yepโif you want the exact one Iโm talking about, itโs right here on Amazon.)

Balancing the Hustle: How I Do It All
You might be wondering, “Danna, how are you running a reselling business, managing a Florida rental property, doing notary work, AND publishing books?”
The answer is simple: AI and Community.
I don’t do this alone. I use AI tools to help me brainstorm, organize my thoughts, and even help with the heavy lifting of content creation. Itโs the only way to scale in 2026 without losing your mind.
In fact, Iโm so passionate about these tools that I started the AI for Resellers membership. For just $6 a month, I share the exact prompts, tools, and strategies I use to manage my multiple business ventures. Itโs a small investment that saves me dozens of hours every single week. If you want to see how Iโm using technology to power my “Power Selling Mom” empire, you should definitely check it out here.
